KELANA WASTRA 2024
On April 26, 2024, Rumah Rakuji appeared at Kelana Wastra kawfest2024 fashion show in Sarinah Thamrin, Jakarta.
Rumah Rakuji displays a collection set of 4 looks from Tenun Palu’e and 4 looks from Ulap Doyo entitled ODE – Poetry of Beauty.
In this collection, Rumah Rakuji raises the southernmost province within the territory of Indonesia, considered as one of the pearls of Indonesia. With the theme of the Contemporary Classic collection featuring Palue and Sikka weaving produced by local weavers, it has transformed traditional clothing into beautiful fashionable fashion through the development of eco-design with the concept of zero waste.
This intricately crafted Palue – Sikka weaving is produced along the island chain of East Nusa Tenggara, combined into one equivalent to ULAP DOYO from East Kalimantan.
Ulap Doyo (weaving made from natural fibers of curculigo latifolia leaves or the local name is Doyo leaves), is a unique and authentic weaving produced by Rumah Rakuji in collaboration with the community of Weavers Tunas Mekar Batubura – Tanjung Isuy.
